Manchester approves four towers including UK’s tallest outside London

Simpson Haugh’s 76-storey Viadux 2 tower and Sheppard Robson’s 44-storey Whitworth Street scheme among approvals

Manchester city council has approved another tranche of high-rise schemes including a 246m residential tower designed by Simpson Haugh which will be the UK’s tallest outside London.

The £350m Viadux 2 scheme, designed for developer Salboy, consists of a 76-storey tower containing 452 apartments and a 160-bed hotel operated by Nobu, a brand part-owned by Robert De Niro.
